Paul McCartney is now the third richest music millionaire in England, thanks to his new wife, Nancy Shevell. According to The Telegraph — which cited the UK’s Sunday Times Rich List of Music Millionaires — her 240 million dollar fortune increased his wealth by one third to one billion dollars, surpassing producer Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber. Now McCartney only trails music executive Clive Calder with $2.2 billlion and producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh who is worth $1.2 billion.
McCartney married Shevell last October. Her wealth is from her share in her family’s trucking business, New England Motor Freight, of which Nancy is “vice president for administration, and is responsible for overall office management, including accounts receivable, corporate communications, benefits administration and purchasing,” according to the company website.
Paul also made a little of his own money last year too, earning $32 million from touring and album sales, the newspaper reports.
Olivia Harrison, the widow of the late Beatle George Harrison, is thirteenth on the list with 290 million dollars. Ringo Starr is number eighteen with $257 million.
Mick Jagger is in tenth place on Britain’s music rich list with 306 million dollars.
