Tina Turner is using her voice to promote peace and tolerance.  The singer is one of a handful of music artists who’ve teamed up with direct-to-fan platform Pledge Music to release a new album titled Children Beyond.

Joining with 30 kids from across cultures and nations, Turner sings a dozen prayers and mantras from Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam and Sikhism.  “We want to take as many people as possible with us on this journey and create more tolerance and peace through our music,” Tina says in a statement about the project.

Released in 2011 to fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by the charity project Beyond, Children Beyond will now be available directly to music lovers across the globe.  The redesigned album package includes a DVD about the making of the set, while exclusive extras also available from Pledge Music, including signed copies, silver bracelets and more.

Turner’s non-profit group, The Tina Foundation, among other charities, will benefit from a portion of the proceeds generated by the album.  The Tina Foundation supports a children’s hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and also focuses on aid for single mothers, women in distress and sick children.
