It’s a busy time for The Rolling Stones. Not only have the rock legends been rehearsing in Paris for their upcoming 50 & Counting concerts and scheduled a pair of intimate warm-up gigs in the city, but the band has also found time to shoot a brand-new video.
In a message posted on his Twitter account Wednesday, singer Mick Jagger revealed that the band is working on a promo clip for “Doom and Gloom,” one of two new songs that will appear on The Stones’ upcoming GRRR! compilation.
“Had a great video shoot today doing Doom & Gloom with the band & Noomi Rapace, directed by Jonas Åkerlund,” writes Jagger. “Be out in [November], hope you like it.”
Rapace is the Swedish actress best-known for her starring role in the original The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo film and its two sequels. Åkerlund previously worked with The Stones on their 2005 video, “Rain Fall Down,” and also has directed clips for such other stars as Madonna, U2 and Metallica.
The Stones recently posted an online lyrics video for “Doom and Gloom.”
