An unreleased Eric Clapton outtake from the sessions that produced the guitar legend’s 1977 album Slowhand has been made available to radio stations in the U.S.
“Looking at the Rain” is one of the previously unavailable bonus tracks that will appear on the recently announced 35th Anniversary editions of Slowhand. The initially reported arrival date for the collections was December 4, but their release has been moved to December 18.
The Slowhand album’s original track list features a variety of enduring Clapton tunes, including the radio staples “Lay Down Sally,” “Wonderful Tonight” and “Cocaine.” Several versions of the reissue will be available, including a standard CD with several extra tracks; a deluxe two-CD edition boasting a 13-track concert disc; and a five-disc super-deluxe package offering a two-CD live set, a DVD audio disc and a vinyl LP.
Meanwhile, Clapton has been amassing a bevy of European tour dates that will take place in the late spring of 2013. The trek currently is scheduled to run from a May 9 concert in Dublin, Ireland, through a June 19 show in Prague, Czech Republic.
