Complete details have been revealed about Boz Scaggs‘ forthcoming studio effort, Memphis, which is scheduled to hit stores on March 5. The album, which the veteran singer recorded at Memphis’ legendary Royal Studio, will include a mix of original compositions and select cover tunes.
The 12-track collection was produced by Steve Jordan, who also played drums throughout the record. A variety of other respected session musicians also contributed to the project, including guitarist Ray Parker Jr., keyboardist Spooner Oldham, bassist Willie Weeks and the Memphis Horns.
Memphis will be released by 429 Records. Preview clips of nearly all of the songs on the album can be heard at the label’s official website.
