Eric Clapton fans can now pick up the guitar legend’s Old Sock.  The 12-track album, which features renditions of some of the three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s all-time favorite tunes, as well as two new compositions, was released today.

Among the covers Clapton recorded for the new studio effort are songs by George Gershwin, Hank Snow, Leadbelly, Taj Mahal, Peter Tosh and frequent Slowhand collaborator J.J. Cale.  In addition, Old Sock features guest appearances by such stars as Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Chaka Khan, Cale and acclaimed session drummer Jim Keltner.

McCartney contributes his vocal and bass guitar talents to a version of the 1930s standard “All of Me,” while Winwood plays Hammond organ on a version of the late Gary Moore‘s “Still Got the Blues” and Khan sings on lead single “Gotta Get Over,” one of Old Sock‘s new tracks.  An animated lyrics video for “Gotta Get Over” can be viewed online now.

Meanwhile, a limited deluxe edition of Old Sock is available for pre-order now at SurfDog.com and will be shipped starting on Friday.  The collection is packaged in a linen-bound book and features a standard CD; a USB card offering high-resolution audio files of each song, one bonus track and a digital booklet; and a physical booklet containing lyrics and photographs.
