  • Fire has destroyed another local business

    SANFORD–Firefighters have been on the scene of a fire since early Monday. The fire, at Sanford Auto Auction on Cameron Drive, was reported around 4:15 am and the flames were visible through the roof when firefighters arrived.   • More votes are needed to win a dog park

    SANFORD–Recreation Director John Payne reminds Lee County residents that there are only two weeks remaining to cast a vote for a dog park.   • A popular Sanford restaurant is featured in Our State Magazine

    SANFORD–The July edition of OUR STATE magazine features the popular down town eatery, Mrs. Wengers Restaurant, a staple in downtown for many years serving up breakfast and lunch every day.   • Civic Clubs have been temporarily outplaced after fire destroyed the Dairy Bar

    SANFORD–The investigation continues into the cause of the fire that destroyed the Dairy Bar, and Civic Clubs are having to find temporary meeting quarters while waiting for the restaurant to be rebuilt. The adjoining Flame Restaurant is the home of many civic clubs and due to smoke damage, is closed for cleanup. The owners expect it to reopen in about three weeks.
