  • Two local residents named recipients of the Governor’s volunteer award

    SANFORD–The Governor’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service has been awarded to two Lee County residents for outstanding service to their communities.   • Art Walk 7 on tap

    SANFORD–Final preparations are underway for ARTWALK 7, a fund raiser devised for the Temple Theater. From 11 am until 6 PM Saturday, ticket holders can visit more than 30 venues for a taste of wine and refreshments. Art products and entertainment will be offered throughout the day in downtown.     SANFORD–Arbor Day was observed locally Wednesday with students at B.T. Bullock Elementary school joining with city officials and members of the Appearance Committee planting trees on campus with the city’s designation as a Tree City.     SANFORD–The May Primary is only a few weeks away, however, you can’t cast a ballot for your favorite candidate if you are not registered to vote. The deadline falls Friday, April 11.   • A Moore County man has been jailed on stalking charges

  • Partnership for Prosperity on the Law & Finance Committee agenda Wednesday

    SANFORD–The Law and Finance Committee of the City of Sanford will meet at 1 PM Wednesday in Council Chambers at the Municipal Center.
