    (NEW YORK) — Legendary fashion designer Oscar De La Renta passed away on Monday at the age of 82. A family member confirmed De La Renta’s passing to ABC News. The designer had been diagnosed with cancer in 2006. De La Renta recently designed the wedding dress worn by Amal Alamuddin during her wedding to George Clooney. Born in the Dominican Republic in 1932, De La Renta left home at 18 to study painting in Madrid.
